CELEBRATE TO REMEMBER

The Day of the Dead is by far one of my favorite family traditions, and Pixar’s COCO is one of my favorite animated films of all time. So when my partner Josh Hepburn and I were tasked to create a campaign to promote Plaza de la Familia, a celebration of COCO and Day of the Dead at California Adventure… to say I was elated, would be an understatement.

Walt Disney World has long spoken to families and kids with great success. For the first time we began the conversation with young adults and created #HappyPlace. “The world asks you to grow up, here you never have to”. For 2019 we created a few series of social content that walked, talked, and looked like our demo. Along with a great team my partner Carol Saraiva and I were able to bring you the freshest side of Walt Disney World.

NOW MORE THAN EVER

With awesome lands come awesome challenges. When it was announced that Galaxy’s edge was opening soon at Walt Disney World some people were deferring their trips till then. So my partner Mary Toves and I were tasked to create a campaign that let guests know of all the great things happening at the park right now. For the first time we let a few select creators in on the magic, and through their lenses we were able to tell a new story that urged guests to visit us no more than ever.

With my love of music and design, this was one of my favorite series we created for #HappyPlace in 2019. We designed theme, taking attractions and their iconic theme songs to create interactive mixtapes on instagram (utilizing the carousel feature).

What better #HappyPlace then to sleep in the park after hours. We created an experience that let one lucky winner and their guest sleep under the mountains of Mo’ara in Pandora. It included an itinerary created by Disney Imagineers, featured a bioluminescent hike through Pandora, exclusive access to the premiere attraction, Flight of Passage, world-class chef-designed private dining in the Valley of Mo’ara, and the ultimate Disney Resort stay within a custom-built tent under the floating mountains of Pandora. We created a slew of content from the contest announcement, to the live coverage on instagram, along with a full recap video.

Kate Parker is a wonderful photographer whose images propel you to believe – not only in magic, but in yourself. I tagged along with Kate and created a short video documenting her as she captured magic at Walt Disney World.

With the all-new 2017 Tiguan launching with an added third row, VW was eager to let consumers know that the SUV that handles like a car now has more room for you and yours. My partner Newt Cox and I made this  single take spot to show that there's plenty of room to go 'round and around, and around.

RULE THE ROAD

With the launch of the all-new Volkswagen Tiguan we pulled off a 21-day Instagram scavenger hunt for the Tiguan through the virtual streets of New York. I was part of the design team that put the meat on the bones of this fun execution.

LAND OF SHARKS

In collaboration with the Discovery Channel, we created another series of branded content to be revealed and aired during Shark Week. It was an experience that brought together sharks and the landlocked All-New Volkswagen Atlas. Using Google Maps integration, we gave users the opportunity to see prehistoric sharks on their own street.

In 2017 VW wanted a more robust model page that was packed with information. We set out to meet the need but added a level of storytelling to the information. With the redesign came a huge need for content. A large team is to thank for the herculean effort.

To launch the new Golf Alltrack in the US my partner Eddie Babaian and I thought to ourselves that this beautiful, and capable vehicle should be out there helping other get the job done in style, so we partnered with the PSIA and the AASI. and with 4Motion® all-wheel-drive it was the obvious choice for the official car.

My first project joining the VW team at Deutsch. I got to dive right in by designing the entire UI and Identity for Unleash Your Rrrr. This was the first of its kind in the artificial intelligence realm of online experiences. It’s no wonder it got some much love, including the ONE show, an FWA, and a Webby.

We set out to change the way we see sharks, through music. I have long loved Shark Week and when this project came up, I was stoked to design the Identity, as well as the Look-and-Feel of the experience.

Shooting one of my favorite bands’ farewell tours was a bittersweet privilege. I loved getting to be on stage with them with my camera and capture some rad moments in Chicago, Los Angeles, and their final show in Santa Ana. Even better when several of my images landed in the album art.
